About the Journal
Journal Description
The Journal of Education for Multilingualism (JEM) is an international, peer-reviewed, and open-access scholarly journal that is devoted to the field of multilingual education. The online-only journal is primarily concerned with the education of multilingual individuals at various educational levels, beginning from kindergarten to higher education, and also focuses on workplace literacy settings. JEM encourages scholarship grounded in interdisciplinary frameworks that offer insights from related disciplines such as applied linguistics, school psychology, linguistic anthropology, and sociology of education. Although articles are written in English, the journal also invites original studies dealing with the learning and teaching of languages other than English.
JEM accepts submissions of research articles that share original empirical research with sound methodological design, use varied approaches (qualitative, quantitative, mixed methods) and propose innovative implications for teaching. It also accepts brief reports, feature articles, high quality systematic reviews and meta-analyses as well as book/software/media reviews, letters to the editor, peer commentaries, and interviews. JEM entertains unsolicited proposals for special topic issues and may also announce calls for proposals for special topic issues determined by the journal.
